The objective of the international multidisciplinary research TEAM is to exploit the positive aspects of the pulsating water jet technology (i.e. disintegration without thermal effects on materials and selectivity) which has been developed at the IGN of the CAS, v.v.i.

The substitution of pure water for the physiological saline solution will consequently enable to apply the innovative method for reoperations of cemented bone implants (knee and hip).

Due to the physical advantages of the process of bone cement disintegration, simplification of surgical procedures, reduction of operative and postoperative complications and shorter hospitalization period are expected.
